Sophia Rodriguez, a freshman at Mercer Island High in Washington, secured sixth place in the 5-kilometer girls championship race in 18:07 at the Foot Locker West Regional at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif. Rodriguez advanced to compete Dec. 9 at the national final at Balboa Park's Morley Field in San Diego, Calif.
